HB 111 (Reps. Willard, Chandler, Houston, Dempsey, Oliver and others - Both R and D sponsors)

Amends O.C.G.A. § 20-2-1076 to permit local boards of education to use interior and exterior space on schools buses owned and operated by the local board for the purpose of commercial advertising under the following conditions:

• Advertising shall be permitted only on the rear quarter panes of the school bus and shall not exceed 16" in height and 60" in length.
• Advertising subject matter shall not include the following:
  • Alcohol or tobacco products
  • Political campaign advertising
  • Individual food items that are prohibited by the local board of education or the State Board of Education from being offered for sale to students trhough vending machines.
• Such commercial advertising shall not interfeer in the safe operation of a school bus.
